Casinoboy returns to Duca Bianco, this time with a full EP of showdazling cuts. An experienced head of the studio world, this resurrected moniker appeared alongside the likes of Rune Lindbæk and Khidja on the Various Artists compiled DB12 006. Releasing a series of 12”s in the distant edit days of the 00s, Casinoboy is another alias of a long time DJ and producer.

Honesty starts this off. A nod to the times, this Balearic meets Breaks gem is all shuffle and wiggle. Smooth and deadly, it’s a wormhole of stabbing keys, uplifting samples, all topped with a timely old school UK Rap no less !

This Feeling delivers some on-point Street Soul vibrations. Warm, sunny, groove laden. Timbre, 707s, breakdown rhythms, strings and another Rap interlude?! Seriously funky, street music calling the night.

The wonderful Balearics of Searos follow, a beauty hidden on the flip side. Ambience, Spanish Guitar invariably lead to the call of the White Isle. A dream really as 99% of the music there is pumping Big Club crap. Here though, we can dream of that alternative vision of mellow dreams.

Astral Go Go is an anomaly. The closing party starter. Sampledelic cheek, the sound of 80s holidays with some 4/4 kick, shout out vocals and it’s the perfect ending to the long-awaited return of Casinoboy. Catchy, shuffling beats, this is a welcome return. Belle Alphonse !
